The Edmonton Oilers should be well rested when they wrap up a five-game road trip in Winnipeg against the Jets on Saturday night as +105 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton has been idle since suffering a lopsided 5-0 loss in Calgary last weekend, and will be playing just its eighth game in 28 days when it hits the ice for Saturday night’s matchup at Bell MTS Place.

Oilers vs Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Oilers’ recent light schedule has done little to boost their on-ice performance. The team has tallied consecutive victories just once while winning just four of its past eight contests, and now finds itself stalled in third place in the North Division standings, five points back of second-place Winnipeg, with two games in hand.
Edmonton’s uneven play has done little to buoy its fading odds to win the North Division. Set as second favorites to claim the divisional crown prior to their current quiet stretch in the schedule, the Oilers now find themselves eight points adrift of first-place Toronto, and have slipped to a +1200 wager on the divisional odds at betting sites.
On a positive note, the Oilers have topped the Jets in each of their past three contests, all on home ice, capped by a 4-2 victory on March 20. The team has limited Winnipeg shooters to just two goals per game during that stretch, with the UNDER go 2-0-1 in totals betting.
It has been a far different story when these two teams clash in Winnipeg. The Oilers split a pair of contests back in late January, in their only visit to Winnipeg so far this season. But the team has earned just two wins in six road dates with the Jets since 2016, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
In addition, the team has tallied just nine total goals over its past five road games, a run that has featured shutout losses in both Montreal and Calgary. However, Edmonton snipers have regularly filled the net in what have been high-scoring road dates with the Jets. The Oilers scored four goals in each of their two away contests with Winnipeg this season, and have scored at least that many goals in five of their past seven.
While the Oilers try to rediscover their game legs following a week off, the Jets aim to continue their steady rise up the standings as -125 home favorites. Winnipeg returns home after posting four wins during its recent five-game road trip, and has posted wins in nine of its past 14 overall. However, the Jets still have work to do to find consistent form on home ice, where they have emerged victorious in just three of their past seven contests.
