The Bets of the Day is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the day. All bets are for one unit unless otherwise noted.
After a super hot start to the season, we’ve had a bit of a come-to-earth going 1-5 in our last six plays dropping four units in that time.
Thankfully, we had a great start to our season so we’re still up on the year, but these ebbs and flows are going to happen. Let’s try and get back on track today as we start a new week, shall we?
Our lone bet of the day will be taking Brent Burns to take over 2.5 shots on goals. These odds sit at -175.
Burns continues to light it up since joining the Carolina Hurricanes this past offseason. Through 15 games, he leads the ‘Canes in shots on goal taking 61 — a whole 13 shots above the second-placed Andrei Svechnikov.
Averaging 4.69 shots per game, this line is way too low for Burns, but I’m happy to play this one even with juice on it. He’s hit this prop in 11 of 15 games this year and in seven straight.
Chicago gives up 34.27 shots per hour, the fifth-worst rate in the league, so this is a good spot for Burns tonight..
