The Edmonton Oilers extended their win streak to 12 last night with a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken. However, they didn’t make it easy on themselves, allowing the Kraken to get ahead 2-0 after 20 minutes of play.
The fight back started with a timely goal from Warren Foegele scoring less than 30 seconds into the second period. Later on, Foegele scored again this time on a breakaway for his 9th of the season. Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman got in on the action, too, giving the Oilers a 4-2 victory and their 12th win in a row.
Besides the comeback, the other headline came late in the game. After getting frustrated from a miscall, Yanni Gourde let emotions get the best of him and laid a huge hit on Mattias Ekholm, making contact with the head. In replays, you could see Gourde left his feet to make the hit which resulted in a five-minute major for charging. Today, news broke that Gourde now has a hearing with the Department of Player Safety.
What did you think of the hit and now the potential punishment? Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will talk about that hit and more on Oilersnation Everyday over on the Oilersnation YouTube at noon. Throughout the show, leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Booster Juice live chat.
