Oilersnation Everyday: The Mattias Ekholm Revenge Game

The Edmonton Oilers are in a surprising position as they head into their third game of the season. Winless, Edmonton take on the Nashville Predators tonight for their second road game of the season.

On Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will preview the action on the ice, along with Michael Gallagher from Nashville Hockey Now. The Predators have a 1-2-0 record to begin their season, with their lone win against the Seattle Kraken. Colton Sissons leads the way with three goals in as many games and is followed by Filip Forsberg with three assists. As usual, Nashville’s goaltending has been excellent, with Juuse Saros posting a 2.41 GAA and a 0.919 save percentage.

Also, tonight, it will be the first time that Mattias Ekholm and Tyson Barrie have played against their former teams since getting traded last spring. Could this lead to a revenge game for each of them?

And, of course, how could we forget about Leon Draisaitl, AKA the Mayor of Smashville? Draisaitl has two goals in two games so far this season; however, his record against the Predators is remarkable. The Oilers forward has 22 goals and 35 points in 22 games against Nashville. Can he keep that hot streak alive tonight as the Oilers seek victory?
