Oilersnation Radio is back to two episodes per week leading up to the start of the NHL regular season, and we had a lot to talk about as the Oilers have now wrapped up six of their eight pre-season games.
Kicking off the Tuesday episode, we got started with a delicious debate about which forward is the most likely to land as the team’s 12th forward. After Brandon Sutter announced his retirement from hockey, the guy that many fans had penciled in as the 4C is gone, leaving an opportunity for someone else to step up and grab the bull by the horns. Changing gears, we looked at Jack Campbell’s performance in the pre-season and whether or not the stellar outings by Soup mean that he’ll be the starter on opening night. From there, we walked through the Pacific Division to try and figure out which of the teams improved and who took a step backward. Did the Flames do enough to get back in the playoffs? Can the Kraken get the same depth scoring that led them to last year’s postseason? Taking you behind the scenes a little bit, we then talked about all of the new shows and written posts that will be coming to Oilersnation this season, and as you’ll hear, the content will be flowing from Nation HQ over the next six months. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of the podcast with another round of Word Association and a quick Jays preview from Tyler as the baseball playoffs get underway.
