It’s Friday afternoon and that means a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio has been wrapped up, edited into a masterpiece, and ready to stimulate your ear feelings as you head into the weekend.
To kick off today’s episode, we jumped in with a look back at 2020 and picked out our favourite memories from the past calendar year. Despite the extended breaks and endless stress that came with this past year, we wanted to look at some of the positive moments that came from the past 12 months and how much they meant to us. From there, we looked at Ethan Bear’s new contract that got signed this week and what everyone thought about it after coming up with some guesses on what his deal would look like over the past few months. Needless to say, Bear will have to play a big role for the Oilers if they’re able to take another step forward and it’s been a lot of fun to watch him progress over the next couple of years. Next up, we looked at yesterday’s game against Finland, offered some score predictions on the game to see how accurate our crystal balls are when it comes to our boys. Back to the Oilers, we also looked at Ken Holland’s decision to improve his team’s depth by signing Slater Koekkoek to a one-year contract as well as bringing in Devin Shore and Ryan Stanton on professional tryouts. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s podcast by offering a few New Year’s resolutions for the Edmonton Oilers as they get started on their journey for a new season.
