It’s Tuesday afternoon, and that can only mean one thing: a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is here to help you figure out what’s happening with the Oilers right now. At 1-3-1, it goes without saying that the start of the season has been anything but acceptable, but the bigger question is what it will take to turn this ship around.
To kick off the podcast, we got started with a delicious debate about which player needs to step up the most in the absence of Connor McDavid. With the captain on the shelf for the next week or two, there is a laundry list of players that need to elevate their game if the Oilers are going to turn this thing around. Can they do it? Gord knows we need it. Looking back at Saturday night’s loss to the Jets, we broke down what went wrong in that game and how the loss was punctuated by losing McDavid. That loss had a bit of everything in terms of things going sideways. Changing gears, we looked ahead at tonight’s matchup versus the Minnesota Wild and what the Oilers need to do to both get themselves back in the win column. Unfortunately, Minnesota hasn’t been a very kind place for the boys to play over the years, which is another interesting wrinkle to this miserable onion. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a new segment from Kennedy that had the boys playing a Nation version of Cards of Humanity.
