Oilersnation Radio: The Oilers are coming into 2024 on a hot streak
By baggedmilk1 month ago
Tuesday afternoon means another episode of Oilersnation Radio is all set and ready to massage your eardrums with all of the Oilers news and info you could ever hope to have. This week, we’re discussing the Oilers’ five-game win streak, the second line’s success, what they need to do to keep it rolling, and a whole lot more.
Kicking off this Tuesday episode of ONR, we got started with a delicious debate about the Oilers’ second line and whether or not that trio can keep the good times rolling. Right now, the trio of McLeod, Draisaitl, and Foegele are playing very well as a unit right now, but the question we had was whether or not they can keep playing effectively. Given that the Oilers probably don’t have an internal option to fill in at the 3C spot, would it make sense to leave that line together while going to fish for more depth? Changing gears, we looked at the wins over Los Angeles and Anaheim to wrap up the road trip and how those two wins were fantastic displays of skill and resilience for an Oilers team that desperately needs points in the standings. Whether it was strong goaltending performances from Skinner and Pickard or the depth scoring coming up with key moments, the Oilers are getting some fantastic performances throughout the lineup, and it’s been fun to see who’s next up to contribute. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Can You Clear That Up For Me, Woz’s signature segment that’s definitely not a game. We also previewed the rematch vs. the Flyers and, specifically, what the Oilers need to do to avenge that ugly October loss in game four of the season.
