We’re a couple of weeks into this new NHL season, the Oilers picked up a pair of wins on their first road trip, and that means the boys had plenty to talk about on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today’s podcast, we’re talkin’ about last night’s insanity in Chicago, Nuge’s heater, and a whole lot more.
To kick off this week’s podcast, we got started with a conversation about the temporary dressing rooms that the Arizona Coyotes are rolling with until their new rooms are completed. With the chat about two terrible dressing rooms out of the way, we turned our focus to last night’s gong show in Chicago and how that was easily one of the weirdest wins you will ever see. Outside of the wild amount of penalties that were called, the thing that most people wanted to talk about was the odd non-goal call against Evander Kane. Obviously, we’re all Oilers fans on this podcast but that still didn’t change our opinion on the way this play shook out. Changing gears, we looked at Connor McDavid’s red hot start and whether or not we think he’s going to win his first Rocket Richard Trophy. With eight goals in his first eight games, it’s hard to argue that McDavid won’t be in the mix when the season ends. Sticking with Oilers heaters, we also looked at the best start of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ career and where we think he’s going end up when all is said and done. From there, we looked ahead at the upcoming three-game road trip and what we should be expecting from the Oilers on a trip that includes rematches against both the Blues and Flames.
