It’s NHL Trade Deadline day and that means we’ve got plenty to talk about on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. This week, we’re talking about how the Oilers did at the trade deadline, first impressions of Mattias Ekholm, and a whole lot more.
To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a look at Ken Holland’s trade deadline work and how we would personally grade his performance. Even though it wasn’t the busiest day for the Edmonton Oilers, the two moves they did make in bringing in Ekholm and Bjugstad address two needs the Oilers had on the roster. From there, we looked around the Pacific Division to see which of the Oilers’ direct competitors got better or didn’t do much of anything at all. We also spent some time talking about the Mattias Ekholm and Nick Bjugstad acquisitions, and how these two players will fit within the current lineup. Changing gears a little bit, Tyler talked about what it was like to do a four-hour trade deadline show on a day when there wasn’t a whole lot going on. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to sum up the week that was with some of the highlights from our week.
