Tuesday featured a busy night of action in the NHL, including wins from three teams in the playoff race in the Pacific Division. Let’s go through the results from the Out of Town Scoreboard and what it means…

The Kraken beat the Stars 5-4 in overtime…

The Oilers pulled off a huge win in Seattle on Saturday and now the Kraken have embarked on a critical four-game road trip through the Central Division. Given Seattle’s 23-9-3 record away from home this season, hitting the road might be good for them.
The Kraken carried a 3-1 lead against the Stars into the third period but Dallas came back and forced overtime thanks to a goal from Jamie Benn with one second left on the clock. Adam Larsson wound up winning the game for the Kraken in overtime with his sixth goal of the season.

The Golden Knights beat the Canucks 4-3…

The Canucks have been playing some of their best hockey of the season recently as they came into Tuesday’s game against the Golden Knights having won seven of their last eight games. It isn’t enough to get them back into the mix for a playoff spot but it’ll help decrease their likelihood of getting Connor Bedard in this summer’s draft.
Vegas scored a couple of goals in the first period but Vancouver battled back in the second frame to make things interesting. The Canucks made the score 4-3 in the third but Vegas managed to close the door and earn the win.

The Flames beat the Ducks 5-1…

Fresh off of a humiliating loss on the road in Los Angeles a couple of nights ago, the Flames bounced back with a commanding win in Anaheim. They opened the scoring under one minute into the first period and cruised to a 5-1 victory.

As it stands…

The Golden Knights, Kings, and Oilers have all played 71 games and are separated by six points in the standings, while the Kraken remain in the mix three points back of the Oilers with one game in hand. The Flames are four points behind the Jets for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference standings.
Wednesday features only two games on the NHL schedule, as the Oilers host the Coyotes and the Avs host the Penguins. It’ll be a busy night of scoreboard-watching on Thursday, as the Flames go head-to-head with the Golden Knights and Seattle plays in Nashville. The Kings don’t play again until Saturday when they host the Jets.
