Real Life Podcast: The Oilers need a cherry picker to climb out this hole

The pain just keeps coming for Edmonton Oilers fans after the team extended its run of pain with a 5-2 loss to the Predators, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Monday episode of the Real Life podcast.

Kicking off the Monday episode of Real Life, the boys started with a conversation about how depressing the Oilers’ situation is right now. With a 2-7-1 record to start the season, the Oilers couldn’t do much worse if they tried. Then again, at least they’re better than the Sharks, right? RIGHT?! The Oilers talk didn’t last even a minute, though, as Chalmers immediately changed the topic so he could lament about the Arizona Cardinals. Turning back to hockey, the guys wondered how the Oilers could have so much skill on the roster while still being unable to put it all together. How can they up the urgency? How can they pull each other into the fight? After spending most of the podcast trying to figure out the Oilers, the conversation turned to TV shows that have gone on for decades. From The Simpsons’ incredible run to when Chalmers should let his kid watch South Park, it’s impressive that some of these programs just seem to go on forever even as their audience seemingly ages out.
