As we work our way through the final 10 games of the Oilers’ 2023-24 regular season, these games against middling teams like the St. Louis Blues become all the more important. Currently, the Blues are sitting five points out of a Wildcard spot with only eight games left to play, and that tells me we’re likely to see a very desperate hockey team hitting the ice on the road.
If the Blues have any hopes of catching the teams ahead of them, they need to pick up as many wins as they can get. At 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, St. Louis is playing some pretty damned good hockey right now, and that will present a challenge for our boys as they look to extend their winning streak to four games.
Of course, the Oilers dominated the Ducks in their last outing — that game was basically over before it ever really began — but I highly doubt they’ll have such an easy ride against the Blues. If anything, winning this game will require the Oilers to give a full 60 minutes of effort while also minimizing any mistakes they make with the puck. The Blue are a hungry team right now, and it’s going to take Edmonton’s best from the crease outward in order to beat them.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I use for my game-day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the St. Louis Blues.

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 total shots at -143. My $5 bet would return $8.50.

Easy Money:

Oilers over 34+ shots on goal at -135. My $5 bet would return $8.70.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +300. My $5 bet would return $20.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Over 6.5 total goals and Connor McDavid to register 2+ points at +150. My $5 bet would return $12.50.

As much as it’s a lot of fun to watch the Oilers dummy the Anaheim Ducks — I’ve hated that team for years and seeing them be so awful is wonderful — the betting odds for a game like that aren’t all that great. Since the Oilers are so heavily favoured, you’ve gotta get into the weeds a little bit if you’re going to make any money, and that was the exact approach I took for Saturday’s matinee.
Here’s what I bet against the Ducks:
  • Connor McDavid to register 3+ points at +160 ✅
  • Adam Henrique to score at +260 ✅
  • Oilers to win every period at +360
  • Oilers moneyline, Leon Draisaitl 2+ points, and Zach Hyman 2+ points at +450 ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the St. Louis Blues.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
