Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
On paper, tonight’s matchup against the Colorado Avalanche seems like a game the Oilers should win based on the laundry list of injuries they’re rolling into town with, but we also know that there are no gimmes in the National Hockey League. But if the boys can come up with another effort like the one we saw against the Islanders then I think we’ll be okay. The tricky part, of course, is having them put down the same kind of effort with the same level of execution. In my heart of hearts, I truly believe that the Oilers have more than enough runway to turn their season around, but it’s going to take wins in games like this one to make that happen. What kind of effort will we get? Only time will tell. What kind of bets am I making? Well, I’ve been getting killed lately so I’ll probably be crawling before trying to run again.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Avalanche:

Player Prop:

Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at +100. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Risky Business:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Mikko Rantanen to register +1 assists at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Carolina over Columbus on the money line, Toronto over Detroit on the money line, and Boston over San Jose on the money line at 2.36. My $5 bet would return $11.83.

Last Game

I got killed once again. It hurts. Thankfully, the Oilers won the hockey game which eases the pain, but it doesn’t do anything for my bankroll. I am ice cold right now.
  • Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots at +105.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at +105.
  • Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +250.
  • Carolina over Nashville on the money line, Washington over Columbus on the money line, and NYR over Montreal on the money line at 3.15.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Avalanche.
