Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Chances are that if you’re reading this right now, you already know how good the Boston Bruins have been this season and that goes even more so at home. In the 31 games played at TD Garden so far this season, the Bruins have only lost five in total with two of those coming in regulation. That’s it. Needless to say, the Oilers need to bring their A-game for 60 minutes if they have any chance of getting this job done. The good news is that the boys played the Bruins hard just over a week ago, and had it not been for a few costly errors, then we could have realistically been talking about a win. I know that no one is into silver linings at this stage, but my point is that the Oilers can absolutely compete with Boston and I’m expecting the boys to bring their best. What does that mean for my game bets? Hope for the best, plan for the worst… I think.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Bruins.

Player Prop:

Connor McDavid over 1.5 points at -120. My $5 bet would return $9.16.

Easy Money:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 1.5 shots at -188. My $5 bet would return $8.75.

Risky Business:

Leon Draisaitl over 1.5 goals at +600. My $5 bet would return $35.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Carolina over Philly on the puck line and NYR over Montreal on the puck line at 3.05. My $5 bet would return $15.26.

I don’t even care that my bets were mostly a waste because the Oilers came up with a scrappy win even though there were plenty of moments when you thought they were going to mess things up. That win over the Sabres may not have been the prettiest two points we’ll see the Oilers earn all season, but dammit it was beautiful ton me.
  • Leon Draisaitl over 2.5 shots at -143.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -134.
  • Oilers to win and Connor McDavid over 1.5 points. ✅
  • Winnipeg over San Jose on the money line and Ottawa over Chicago on the money line at 2.07.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Bruins.
