Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
On Thursday night, the Oilers played about as well against the Penguins as we’ve seen all season. From start to finish, they were dialed in and borderline ravenous, leaving no room for Crosby and crew to get much of anything done. It was the kind of game we hope for every time the Oilers play, and I’m hoping for another dose of the same medicine this morning against Columbus. If we can get even half of the kick-ass the Oilers were laying down on Thursday then this game will absolutely result in a win, and I’m feeling bullish that we’re going to get another taste of it again today. The Oilers know how important these points are and that’s why I can’t see them giving up another opportunity to lock in two points against this hockey club. My body is ready for some daylight action, and I’m betting that the Edmonton Oilers will be too.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Blue Jackets:

Player Prop:

Zach Hyman over 3.5 shots at 2.10. My $5 bet would return $10.50.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at 1.85. My $5 bet would return $9.25.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid to score two or more goals at 5. My $5 bet would return $25.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Edmonton over Columbus on the money line, Boston over Vancouver on the money line, and Carolina over Anaheim on the money line at 2.39. My $5 bet would return $11.97.

How much fun was Thursday’s win against the Penguins? Not only did the boys handle their business but I also secured the bag, and a hockey blogger’s life really doesn’t get much better than that.
  • Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register an assist at 1.60. ✅
  • Under 70.5 shots at 1.72. ✅
  • Connor McDavid anytime goal and the Oilers to win at 2.55. ✅
  • Minnesota over Columbus on the money line, NYR over Detroit on the money line, and Washington over Anaheim on the money line at 3.32.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Blue Jackets.
