Risky Business: Baby, I’m a Star

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL Lines site Betway!
If I’m being honest with all of you, I really don’t know what to expect from the Edmonton Oilers after losing their last three games to teams that they should beat more often than not. I don’t know if they were just feeling too comfortable or what the root of those losses was, but it makes me incredibly nervous that they’ll roll into Dallas with the same kind of mediocre effort and execution. Simply put, the Dallas Stars are way too good to be offering up a B-level game and it’s going to take everyone in a white jersey rowing in the same direction if they’re going to snap their losing streak and walk away with two points. So when it comes to betting on this hockey game, I’m admittedly gunshy because we don’t have any idea what to expect. Do I bet on a bounce-back game? Do I wade into the waters cautiously? My heart tells me to expect the best from our boys, but my brain is having a hard time believing that’s a good idea.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Stars:

Player Prop:

Leon Draisaitl over 3.5 shots at +110. My $5 bet would return $10.50.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at -125. My $5 bet would return $9.00.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Jason Robertson both to score at +275. My $5 bet would return $18.75.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Minnesota over San Jose on the moneyline and Toronto over Philly on the moneyline at 2.22. My $5 bet would return $11.11.

Last Game

The bad news is that the Oilers lost another winnable game against a team below them in the standings. The good news is that the two bets I did win covered the losses for the evening. It’s all a game of give and take, ya know?
  • Leon Draisaitl over 3.5 shots at +120. ✅
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -120. ✅
  • Leon Draisaitl to get 1+ goals and 1+ assists at +200.
  • Edmonton over Nashville on the moneyline, Boston over Florida on the moneyline, and Dallas over Columbus on the moneyline at 3.98.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Stars.
