Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Another day, another matinee. For the second straight day, the Oilers are back in action at an absurdly early time as every game in the NHL looks to avoid competing with the Super Bowl. I mean, I get it but wouldn’t it just be easier to not play today? Either way, the Oilers have a job to do regardless of what time the puck drops, and that means there’s another round of bets t be had as the boys go up against a very mediocre Montreal Canadiens club that looks to have very little chance at a playoff berth. That said, there are no gimmes in the NHL and that means the Edmonton Oilers will need to be at their best if they’re looking for finish off this road trip on a high note.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Habs:

Player Prop:

Connor McDavid to score 1+ goal and 1+ assist at +110. My $5 bet would return $10.50.

Easy Money:

Zach Hyman over 3.5 total shots. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Risky Business:

Evander Kane to score 2+ goals at +600. My $5 bet would return $35.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers over Montreal on the money line, Washington over San Jose on the money line, and Vegas over Anaheim on the money line at 2.78. My $5 bet would return $13.90.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

Came out ahead by 75 cents yesterday, which isn’t the greatest morning of betting you will ever see but certainly not the worst either. There’s probably a lesson to be learned there somewhere, but I don’t know what this is at the moment.
  • Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots at +115. ✅
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at +100. ✅
  • Connor McDavid and Evander Kane to both get 4 shots on goal at +200.
  • Edmonton over Ottawa on the money line and Boston over Washington on the money line at 2.59.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Canadiens.
