Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Today’s game against the Seattle Kraken has me feeling both excited and nervous. Not only is this a massive divisional game that the Edmonton Oilers need to win, but we’re also throwing our 15th anniversary party at the Pint Downtown, and that means we’ll have a room packed full of people expecting a good show. As a result, I feel that I have to do everything in my power to help give the boys a lift, and that includes manifesting a win with the bets I’m putting down on the table. Will that plan work? Is it dumb? Yes on both counts, but I’m hoping the Hockey Gords will see the effort and reward us all with two points to kick off our Saturday.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Kraken.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots at +140. My $5 bet would return $12.00.

Easy Money:

Oilers over 3.5 total goals at -118. My $5 bet would return $9.25.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid anytime goal and an Oilers win at +145. My $5 bet would return $20.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Colorado over Detroit on the money line and Carolina over Philly on the money line at 2.28. My $5 bet would return $11.43.

BONUS: Extremely Risky Business:

Connor McDavid to score three or more goals at +2200. My $5 bet would return $115.00.

Last Game

We’re getting to a point in the year where I almost don’t care if I win my bets provided that the Oilers win the hockey game. That said, it would have been nice, ya know?
  • Leon Draisaitl over 1.5 total points at +125.
  • Connor McDavid over 3.5 shots at -150.
  • Connor McDavid and Jason Robertson both to score at +300.
  • Florida over Montreal on the money line and Colorado over Ottawa on the money line at 2.34. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Kraken.
