Risky Business is brought to you by NHL Lines site Betway!
It’s hard to put together a betting article for the Edmonton Oilers when you never know which team is going to show up, ya know? On Tuesday against the Kraken, the boys started out like a house on fire and then decided that they had already won despite only playing 23 minutes. What I don’t understand is how a team can look so good in one period and so bad the very next, and the Oilers will need to come up with a much higher level of consistency if they’re going to get back on track against the Islanders. In this morning’s game notes, Gregor mentioned that the players help a players-only meeting yesterday, and maybe it’s the optimist in me but I’m hopeful that having something like that happen could be a turning point. That’s why I’ll be eagerly waiting to see what kind of performance they come up with in the rematch against New York.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Islanders:

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score at +250. My $5 bet would return $20.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Carolina over Nashville on the money line, Washington over Columbus on the money line, and NYR over Montreal on the money line at 3.15. My $5 bet would return $13.52.

I don’t even care that I came out even on the night because of how crushing that loss to Seattle felt. It hurts, and I hate it.
  • Zach Hyman to register a power play point at +105. ✅
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -110. ✅
  • Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman both to score at +300.
  • Edmonton over Seattle on the money line, Florida over Arizona on the money line, and Tampa Bay over Chicago on the money line at 2.70.
And there you have it, friends. Now that you know what I’m betting on — I’ll be throwing one unit down on each bet, for the record — feel free to hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Islanders.
