Risky Business: Running with the Devils

I don’t think I’m talking out of school when I say that Saturday’s win over the Golden Knights was huge for the Edmonton Oilers. Not only did they avoid letting one loss turn into two, but they picked up a couple of big points within the Pacific Division. With that win now on record and the boys hopefully feeling good about themselves, the focus then turns to a very good New Jersey Devils team that has won their last 12 games and is looking to set a franchise record 13th in a row. Can the Oilers be the team that stops the streak? I don’t see why not, but they’re going to need another 60-minute effort and a little bit of luck if they’re going to make it happen. Dare to dream? I believe.

If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Devils:

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at +130. My $5 bet would return $11.50

Over 63.5 total shots at -118. My $5 bet would return $9.25.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both to score. My $5 bet would return $20.00.

Calgary over Philly on ML, Toronto over NYI on ML, and St. Louis over Anaheim on ML at 3.41. My $5 bet would return $17.08.

I actually thought I was being conservative on Saturday but it turns out the only thing I got right was what happened outside of Edmonton. Way she goes, I suppose.
