The Capilano Rehab Injury Report: Intern Reserve

The trade deadline has come and gone, Nurse and Larsson have returned to the lineup, we have an easy schedule in March, and it’s a great time to be an Oilers fan.

Benoit Pouliot

Pouliot’s considered day-to-day since he hurt his undisclosed in a practice a couple weeks ago. There were rumblings about him returning in this past week, which obviously didn’t happen. I would give him two weeks tops before coming back. There were a lot of people hoping he would be gone at the deadline so now I’m interested how he’s going to be slotted in once he’s activated off the IR. Benoit Pouliot is the only player currently on the IR who will be returning to the lineup this season which makes for a pretty healthy team right now! *knocks on wood*

Tyler Pitlick

Raise your hand if you miss Tyler Pitlick. ✋ It’s easy to have forgotten about the kid by now as he hasn’t played in over two months. I feel as if we could really use him as a depth player right now in our bottom six. Who knows what kind of season could have been for Tyler if he hadn’t torn his MCL.

Andrew Ference

Believe it or not, there were rumours that Chia was trying to move Ference’s contract out of Edmonton at the deadline to clear up some cap space. Could you imagine me giving you weekly updates on Ference’s injury status for over 500 days, only for him to end up being traded? I would be heartbroken. This whole shtick is about Ference retiring officially at the end of this season so we can turn his injury dummy into a banner and hang it in the office. Stay away from him Pete!
Fun fact about Andrew Ference: By the end of this season, he will have missed MORE games as an Oiler by being on the LTIR (158) than games actually played as an Oiler (147).

Kyla The Intern

This isn’t the first time Kyla has been on my injury report. She’s lucky I don’t add her here every week because she’s as injury prone as they come. The reason Kyla gets the lucky 4th spot in my report this week is because she was in an car accident last night. Now don’t you worry, she’s alive and well, but she’s cruising around NationHQ today like my 90-year-old Baba. We’re currently in the motions of buying her a couple of those reach grabbers to make her life easier around here.
We’re expecting her to on the IR for a while and eventually be moved over to the LTIR as she’s getting knee surgery at the end of the month. Feel free to send her some happy wishes through Twitter (@TheNationKyla) cause who doesn’t want happy wishes?
