For the first time in what feels like ages, the Edmonton Oilers have beaten the Minnesota Wild.
Derek Ryan opened the scoring just a few minutes into the game, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored a goal and had two assists, and Stuart Skinner made 42 saves as the Oilers snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Wild.

Edmonton extended their lead to 2-0 just a few minutes later while Joel Eriksson Ek was in the penalty box for hooking. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins fed Connor McDavid with a perfect cross-zone pass and he fired the puck past a sprawling Fleury…

The Wild got on the board before the end of the first period. Eriksson Ek intercepted a soft pass behind the net from Darnell Nurse and walked out into the slot untouched and deked out Stuart Skinner before roofing his shot…

Minnesota tied the game in the second period after Brett Kulak and Mattias Janmark took minor penalties within 24 seconds of each other. Mats Zuccarello took a feed from Kirill Kaprizov in the high slot and sniped a shot top shelf on Skinner’s blocker side…

The Oilers got the lead back before the end of the second period. Darnell Nurse fired a wrist shot from the point and Kailer Yamamoto tipped it past Fleury for his first goal of the season…

In the third period, Edmonton’s power play clicked again to give the team some insurance with a 4-2 lead. The Wild got caught following the puck and Leon Draisaitl was left completely alone in the faceoff circle…
