Whether you’ve been a Nation citizen for a while now, or have just started following us, you should know that we’re big fans of photoshop contests. Photoshops give us another avenue to cheer/rant about the Oilers and some of the work you guys come up with is absolutely hilarious. As you all probably have heard, the season is not going like we expected it to and I can’t think of a better time to bring back another giveaway. With that said, I’m pleased to introduce, the RIP ELC photoshop contest!

What is this RIP ELC thing you ask? Well, it’s our way of saying goodbye to Connor McDavid’s entry level contract. We’ve had some good times, and we’ve had some bad times. I’ve gotta say it’s unfortunate that it’s coming to an end in the way that it is. Personally, I was hoping for at least ONE Stanley Cup win in Connor’s ELC timespan but we can’t always get what we want. If only there was someone in the organization who could have prevented the waste of Connor’s last year of his ELC. Unfortunately, now we have to into Connor’s first year of his big-time deal with a lot of doubt about the skill around him. Granted things could change drastically before then, but it’s a challenge to build up confidence for that right now.

Like I was saying, the Oilers season in Connor’s third year of his ELC has been a drastic disappointment so we want you to express it through the art of photoshop! Our task for you, is to come up with an image that describes this season as a whole. Sum up all of the emotions you’re feeling in this last year of the ELC, and put it into a picture.

Your angle on the photoshop is completely up to you! If you’re hopeful and want to ‘shop Connor leading the team into war on all of the Game of Thrones characters that’s great. On the other hand, if you want to ‘shop Rogers Place burning down that’s okay too. (A little dark, but okay. I get your anger.)

“But I’m not good at photoshop” – you may say. That’s okay little buddy because we’re looking for photoshops of all variety of skills. Frankly, in my opinion, the images with extremely messy cutting and pasting are hilarious. Besides it’s not even up to me if you’ll win or not, as we’re putting all the finalists up for a vote and letting Nation Citizens decide.

The deadline to enter the contest will be Thursday, January 25th at 11:59pm. To submit your entry, just email it to me at chris@oilersnation.com. From there, we will take the five or six (maybe more) best entries and throw them up for a vote. The rest will be put up on our Facebook page/Instagram.
