• The last two drafts have been spent adding youngsters from the CHL, and that work is seen here. The twin defenders (Jones and Bear) continue to look good 1.5 years after their draft day, and if all things remain equal we should see both in the AHL next year.

• Markus Niemelainen has been playing the shutdown role on a pairing in Saginaw with Filip Hronek. He is playing a very conservative style and is now injured (don’t know injury, or extent, source below).
