            OILERS SIGNING OPTIONS

Among the players outside pro hockey at this time, there aren’t many who are locks to be signed this summer. Ziyat Paigin is absolutely trending in a good way (and as Sean Ferguson suggests may well be spiking in a way both Bogdan Yakimov and Anton Slepyshev weren’t able to do) and was part of the KHL All-Star game this year.
After that? Hmmm. Keven Bouchard, Miroslav Svoboda and Zack Nagelvoort are less than sure things (I am being kind), and the college skaters (plus John Marino) are either going to stay or are real long shots for pro hockey based on performance this year.
I think we could see Bob Green and his Oilers scouting staff sign college free agents (ala Jordan Oesterle, Andrew Miller) or graduating juniors who did not get drafted (Braden Christoffer a recent example). It will be an interesting spring for procurement.
