While the power play wilts in Edmonton, Brad Hunt is on fire in Oklahoma territory. The undersized defender ripped through the AHL this week in breathtaking fashion, scoring eight points in just four games. It was a week of strong performances by defensemen across the prospect list, with Darnell Nurse and Joey Laleggia having impact weeks. Let’s have a look.

Notes:
  • Brad Hunt had an incredible week. Just outstanding. He has at least one point in each game played in OKC this season.
  • Anton Lander also delivered a solid week.
  • Iiro Pakarinen may get the call right away with Pouliot’s injury. He’s likely ready to stay.
  • Tyler Pitlick and Curtis Hamilton both enjoyed good weeks.
  • Kale Kessy is going to force an audition if he keeps playing this well.

          Notes:
          1. Holy hell, Joey Laleggia. That was a major week!
          2. William Lagesson also enjoyed a strong week, and it’s worth nothing the large number of defensemen who are trending well this year in all levels (save the NHL level).

          EUROPE

          Notes:
          • Horak is having a strong season, wonder if we’ll see him again.
          • Slepyshev has all-world talent but isn’t delivering. What’s more he’s not getting big minutes in the KHL.
          • Tyrvainen had a good week.
