WEEKEND UPDATE (MARCH MADNESS)

Lowetide

Anton Slepyshev has endured a long and winding road this season. He began with an impressive training camp, and won an NHL job early on. When the performance level faded a little, it was off to Bakersfield where he slumped, got hurt, and is now finding the range. In our look at March madness in the Oilers system, Slepyshev shines like a diamond.

A smaller sample size (March) is unfair to the goalies—two bad outings can ruin a month—but the skaters who are currently impacting the team are more obvious. Slepyshev and Bogdan Yakimov among forwards, and David Musil from the defenders, join Eetu Laurikainen as the success stories so far this month.
