Add another Oilers home game to the postponed list after the NHL announced earlier tonight that the January 18th rematch against the Chicago Blackhawks would be moved to a later date.
As the Oilers wrap up their five-game road trip, news came out that the Oilers would have another game moved around on their schedule, meaning there are now four games in January that will have to be played later. At this stage, the January 10th game against the Ottawa Senators is still set to go, but we haven’t yet heard how many fans will be allowed in the building if any at all. Seeing as that game is still five days away and this stuff all changes by the hour, we’ll have to wait and see what we get when the Oilers are next scheduled to play.
All seven Canadian teams have now had games postponed due to Canada’s COVID-19 restrictions which force buildings to operate at a reduced capacity or with no fans at all, and the NHL has already stated that these games will be rescheduled for later in the season when these restrictions have been lifted. With four more home games still remaining on the January schedule, we’ll have to see how many more get moved as we go along.
