Despite the Oilers’ third-straight loss that came at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks, Connor McDavid keeps finding his way into the highlight reels as he scored yet another wonderful goal on an individual effort that’s worth seeing again.
After Andrej Sekera flipped the puck skyward in order to clear the zone, Connor McDavid used his incredible speed to catch up to it, walk straight through Sam Gagner’s attempt at stopping him, and give himself the opportunity to fire a snapshot past Jacob Markstrom for his 41st goal of the season. From start to finish, this goal was the result of pure domination by the NHL’s point leader.
Check it out:
Despite the struggles of his team, McDavid has been on a torrid pace that has seen him shoot to the top of the NHL scoring race, landing himself in the conversation for the Hart Trophy despite the Oilers being outside of the playoffs. In his last five games, McDavid has registered seven goals and six assists for 13 points and passed the 100 point plateau for the second straight season.
