The Bakersfield Condors have signed forward Justin Bailey to a one-year American Hockey League contract, the club announced Thursday.

Bailey will be in the Oilers organization and through training camp, he will have a shot to earn an NHL contract with the team. Standing at 6’4, 215 lbs, Bailey has split parts of the last three seasons between the Vancouver Canucks and their AHL franchise.

Last year, he appeared in 14 NHL games scoring no points, but in 3 AHL games, he scored 15 goals and 27 points.

The signing, at the least, helps to provide some serious depth to the Condors. Between last years AHL season and when he played there last in 2019-20, Bailey has produced at a great clip scoring 43 goals and 74 points in 83 games.

Bailey was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round of the 2013 draft, he’s spent time in the Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers and Canucks’ organizations.

While he’s been a great producer at the AHL level, Bailey’s struggled to not only get much NHL time, but he’s also had issues producing. In 82 games across seven seasons, he’s scored just five goals and nine points.
