It’s been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I’ve got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today’s podcast, I discussed the Oilers’ Game 5 win over the Ducks, what needs to happen in Game 6, the star players stepping up, and more.
I kicked off this week’s episode with a quick recap of Game 5 between the Oilers and Ducks after our boys found themselves on the ropes in an elimination game. With Edmonton’s win pushing the series to at least six games, there are plenty of good things to carry over, but it was also impossible to ignore how much they sat back and let the Ducks push for the comeback. If the Oilers are going to win on the road to drag this series back to Berta, they’ll need to keep the pedal to the floor a whole lot more than they did. That is, of course, unless they can just figure out how to kick another field goal in the first period again.
Finally, I wrapped up this week’s episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about protecting star players before closing out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and I had a great time with everyone’s takes on whatever you wanted to talk about. The voicemail is my favourite way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week’s episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.
