It’s been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I’ve got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today’s podcast, I discussed the Stanley Cup Final, coaching candidates, summer TV binging, and more. Needless to say, we’re in full offseason mode around here.
I kicked off this week’s episode with a run-through of the Stanley Cup Final and how this could be a nightmare final pairing if you’re a grudge keeper like me. Not only do I despite the Golden Knights as a divisional rival, but I’ve also hated the Carolina Hurricanes since they beat the Oilers back in 2006. How does one choose between two awful outcomes? It’s impossible, I say. From there, I looked at the latest news surrounding the Edmonton Oilers. Despite these being quiet days ahead of silly szn kicking off for the draft and free agency, there are some major decisions ahead for our beloved franchise, and that meant there’s always something to talk about even if not much is happening.
Finally, I wrapped up this week’s episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was quieter this week, but even so, I still had a great time hearing everyone’s thoughts on whatever you wanted to talk about. The voicemail is my favourite way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week’s episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.
