When I made the title for google searches I included the date for this accolade with the thought of thousands of years from now someone thinks of Connor McDavid and their brain implant searches all things Connor. You are a welcome future person because this was something that we in the present day could basically set our watches to. Connor being named one of the stars of the week for the week of October 15th to 21st 2018, he was the second star in the league.
The week included three games, and for Connor, it was the three points in the third (four points in total) in Winnipeg that really put him over the top. He would go on to grab two more points in the win against Boston before the team was shut out by the stingy Preds. This week, he went on to set an NHL record (which he hates) for having factored in on the first nine goals the Oilers scored in this young season.
His eleven points in just six games still have him five points back of league-leading Auston Matthews, but his three games in-hand to Matthews leaves no doubt that Auston only has a temporary hold on that title as Connor continues his meteoric rise to the top of the points list once more. Dragging this team up the standings with him.
