Edmonton Oilers defenceman Dmitri Samorukov has been medically cleared and has been loaned to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
Samorukov, 22, was injured in the Oilers’ first rookie game of the pre-season after taking a big hit that caused him to suffer a broken jaw.
The defenceman spent last season playing for CSKA Moskva in the KHL where he scored two goals and eight points in 48 games. He spent the 2019-20 season with the Condors scoring two goals and 10 points in 47 games.
He now will join the Condors where he will get top-four minutes and a chance to be a potential recall to the big club.
He was ranked by OilersNation as the sixth-best prospect in the Oilers organization.
