@Edmonton Oilers F @Leon Draisaitl has been named the NHL’s first star of the week.
Draisaitl scored two goals and six assists in three games last week helping the Oilers secure five of a possible six points.
His week kicked off with a two-assist performance against the @Calgary Flames last Wednesday. He followed up with two goals — one of which the game-winner — Friday night against the @St. Louis Blues.
And he only got better as the week went on capping it off with a four-assist night Saturday in the second Battle of Alberta of the week.
Draisaitl, the league leader in points, is riding an 11 game point streak that’s seen him score seven goals and 15 assists. Leading the league with 83 points in 52 games, Draisaitl has become the first Oilers player to hit the 80-point mark in a season since Mark Messier did in 1989-90, when he did it in 50 games.
