@Edmonton Oilers defenceman @Oscar Klefbom will be out for the next two-to-three weeks with a shoulder injury, the club announced.
The loss of Klefbom is nothing short of a massive blow to an Oilers lineup already depleted by injuries. He joins a list of injured Oilers that includes: @Joakim Nygard, @Kris Russell, @James Neal, and @Connor McDavid.
Klefbom has scored five goals and another 28 assists in 59 games for the club this year averaging over 25 minutes a night. The Oilers powerplay quarterback, 18 of his points have come with the man advantage.
According to the Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson, Klefbom has been dealing with this injury for “weeks.” Klefbom played a whopping 30:57 Sunday against the @Carolina Hurricanes.
It sounds like @Kris Russell is close to returning to the Oilers lineup this week, but if he isn’t ready to go Wednesday against Boston, I’d imagine @Caleb Jones takes a significant bump in playing time with @William Lagesson drawing in on the third pairing.
