The @Edmonton Oilers have assigned @Tyler Benson to the Bakersfield Condors and placed @Kris Russell on LTIR.
Oilers GM Ken Holland announced both moves during a press conference Monday afternoon.
Benson was recalled by the Oilers on Jan. 30 and appeared in seven games for the club scoring one assist averaging 10:23 in time on ice. He returns to a Condors club that’s in the midst of a playoff push, so no doubt Benson will help in those chances.
In 42 AHL games earlier this year, Benson had put up nine goals and 26 assists.
Russell, meanwhile, has been recovering from a concussion sustained in late January. The Oilers had placed him on the injured reserve on Jan. 30.
In 49 games this year, Russell has posted eight assists.
