The Edmonton Oilers have placed their third player on the injured reserve in the last four days, this time with Zack Kassian heading there.
The forward was injured in the first period of last night’s game against the Ottawa Senators. He fought Erik Gudbrandson early in the game on his first shift, then took a 31-second shift before leaving the game.
Oilers head coach Dave Tippett said Kassian would be week-to-week with the undisclosed injury.
In a coinciding move, the Oilers recalled forward Devin Shore from the taxi squad and he is expected to be in the lineup tonight against the Senators tonight.
Edmonton placed Ethan Bear on the IR Saturday retroactive to Jan. 30, while placing Gaetan Haas there yesterday with an undisclosed injury.
The Oilers play the Senators tonight at 5 p.m. MST.
