While there are a lot of unknowns surrounding the Edmonton Oilers, you won’t get a bargain on their Stanley Cup odds.
The way-too-soon Stanley Cup odds for the 2026-27 season are out on various sportsbooks.
On Bet365, the Oilers are tied for the third-best odds to win Lord Stanley at +1100. In other words, a $100 bet on the Oilers would win you $1100.
It’s rare to get value on the Oilers, with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl always keeping Edmonton near the top. Last season, the Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights opened tied with the shortest odds.
While they’re still celebrating their current victory, the Carolina Hurricanes opened as favourites to repeat as champions at +650. Frederik Andersen is their only significant free agent, and the Canes are almost $12 million under the salary cap. They are in a good position to repeat.
The Colorado Avalanche have the second-best odds at +750. Three other teams are tied at the Oilers’ odds of +1100, including the Tampa Bay Lightning, Vegas Golden Knights, and Florida Panthers.
The Minnesota Wild are next at +1200.
Meanwhile, the Oilers’ western Canadian rivals are at the bottom of the list. Vancouver has the longest odds at +40000, while Calgary has the second-longest odds at +35000.
Perceptions may shift if the Oilers do indeed hire Mike Babcock as their next head coach, but it is likely baked into the cake of those odds already. That hire is pending an NHL investigation.
Free agency and major trades could also change the odds.
