Tyler Ennis has cleared waivers while the Edmonton Oilers placed Joakim Nygard on waivers.
Both players were likely placed there to continue to allow the team some flexibility in building their rosters on a nightly basis.
Nygard, 28, has only played in six games for the Oilers this year, scoring no points. Since the end of January, he’s only appeared in two games — one on March 3 against Toronto and one on March 18 against Winnipeg.
He’s in his second season in Edmonton, but has struggled to gain any semblance of traction in the lineup.
Ennis has subsequently been placed on the taxi squad.
