Edmonton Oilers head coach Dave Tippett said it appears an injury suffered by Joakim Nygard is serious, according to 630 CHED’s Reid Wilkins.
More information is expected Thursday afternoon.
Nygard had blocked a shot with less than a minute in the first period against the Calgary Flames Wednesday night — one that caught him on the arm, and the forward did not return.
In 33 games this year, Nygard has scored three goals and another six assists.
