The injury bug has struck the @Edmonton Oilers a bit, as @Joel Persson has been placed on the Injured Reserve for 7-10 days after suffering a shoulder injury in last night’s 4-2 loss to the @Arizona Coyotes last night.

Oilers confirm today he is out 7-10 days. Short term and gives Ethan Bear a great opportunity to impress in final two preseason games and be lineup for season opener next Wednesday.

I’m told Persson has a shoulder injury. Will get it looked at tomorrow. No word on severity at this point. #Oilers

Nuge scored a brilliant short-handed goal in last night’s loss but is a little banged up as well, nursing a sore leg after today’s practice, while @Gaetan Haas also took a puck off the jaw during practice and had to leave the ice.
@Joakim Nygard is also recovering from some damage, sporting a gnarly scar on the left side of his face after getting ten stitches to close a laceration from a skate blade during the Oilers 6-2 win over the @Calgary Flames on Saturday.
With the Persson injury and @Evan Bouchard being sent down to the @Bakersfield Condors early today, there is now a huge opportunity for @Ethan Bear to step in on @Oscar Klefbom’s right side as Head Coach Dave Tippet eluded to this being the time for Bear to get a chance with the big club with only two preseason games remaining.
