Late last week, the Bakersfield Condors announced that Keegan Lowe was named as team captain for the 2018-19 season. Lowe is playing in his second season with the Condors after coming in as a free agent last summer and extending his stay with a new two-year deal this past June.
According to Condors head coach, Jay Woodcroft, “Keegan (Lowe) is a young man who does it right every day” and that professionalism made him the ideal fit in the eyes of the organization to follow Ryan Hamilton who retired from hockey to take a job as a scout with the San Jose Sharks. Woodcroft also mentioned that he saw firsthand how Lowe carried himself in and around and felt that it would be a benefit to the team as a whole. The 25-year-old becomes the second captain in Condors team history.
Lowe will be joined by alternate captains Brad Malone and Josh Currie and tasked with leading the Condors back to the playoffs after missing the AHL dance last season.
