@Edmonton Oilers F @Joakim Nygard has suffered a broken hand that will require surgery, the Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson reported Friday.
Nygard suffered the injury Wednesday night against the Calgary Flames.
The forward had blocked a shot with less than a minute left in the first period and he did not return to the team.
While there’s been no word on the injury, or a timeline for his recovery, there’s a good chance he will miss well over a month.
In 33 games this year, Nygard has scored three goals and another six assists.
