<p>According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, Eric Gryba is about to get a new deal with the Edmonton Oilers.</p>

<p>With the deadline for teams to submit their cap compliance by 3pm MST, the Oilers appear to be ready to re-sign Eric Gryba to a one-year, two-way contract.</p>
<p>Gryba, who has been a workhorse for the Edmonton Oilers, was acquired by the team on June 27, 2015, in exchange for Travis Ewanyk and&nbsp;a 4th-round draft pick. The move paid dividends for the club, as Gryba was a positive impact player last season in a 6/7 defenceman role.</p><div class="video-ad-injection" adinsertlocation="after-previous-tag" adinsertcurrentgap="154/"></div>
<p>The veteran right-shot defenceman played 810 minutes with the Oilers last year, and recorded a 49.5 CF%. He played the majority of his time last season with Brandon Davidson (283 mins), and the pair posted a 53.7 CF% together.</p>
<p>As McKenzie reported above, Gryba is expected to start the year in Bakersfield with the Condors.&nbsp;Although we have yet to see the finalized roster, one would expect Gryba to be one of the first players called-up to the NHL roster should injuries occur.</p>
<p>A two-way deal allows for the Oilers to get some flexibility with their cap situation, although they are in a good position right now.</p>
<p>It was reported yesterday by Jim Matheson that Gryba had interest from <a href="http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/notes-former-oiler-eric-gryba-has-two-other-nhl-teams-interested-in-him">two other clubs</a>.&nbsp;</p>
<p>NHL rosters are due by 3 P.M. MST today.</p>
