The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to record consecutive wins for the first time in their past seven outings when they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday as +150 road underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com
Edmonton put the brakes on a four-game road losing streak with a 4-1 win in Columbus on Wednesday night, but has mustered just two victories in the team’s past six contests going into Saturday afternoon’s game at PPG Paints Arena.

The Oilers received another standout performance from Leon Draisaitl in Wednesday’s win over the Blue Jackets as +130 underdogs. Draisaitl potted a pair of goals and added an assist to extend his points streak to four games, and leads the NHL with 12 goals and 25 points. However, secondary scoring has remained almost non-existent with Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, and James Neal accounting for 29 of the club’s 41 goals scored this season.
That could emerge as an issue as the Oilers search for their first win in Pittsburgh since 2015. Edmonton has scored just five total goals during a three-game road losing streak against the Penguins, and has tallied just two wins in 17 trips to the Steel City since 1993, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
Further complicating matters are the slow starts that have plagued the Oilers during their recent swoon. Edmonton has potted the first goal just twice over the team’s past six contests, and has been limited to two or fewer goals in five of its past seven games.
That trend could be cause for concern as the Oilers prepare to face a Penguins squad set as -170 home chalk in Saturday afternoon’s contest. Goal scoring wasn’t a problem for the Penguins in their last outing, a 7-1 rout of the Philadelphia Flyers as -145 home favorites that improved the club to 4-1-0 in their past five home dates.
Overall, the Penguins have outscored opponents by a wide 10-1 margin during a two-game winning streak, and have limited opponents to just 2.25 goals per game while compiling a 5-3-0 home record. Despite playing stingy defense, though, the Penguins have produced mixed results in totals betting when playing at home this season, with the UNDER going 5-3-0 over their first eight contests at sports betting sites.
