The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to build on this week’s dominating three-game sweep of the Ottawa Senators when they open a three-game road trip in Vancouver on Saturday as -125 favorites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton remained perfect against Ottawa so far this season with a decisive 6-2 victory in Friday’s series finale, and has now outscored opponents by a wide 19-7 margin during the four-game win streak the team takes into Saturday night’s matchup at Rogers Arena.

A three-game visit from the last-place Senators proved to be a tonic for an Oilers offense that had stumbled through a recent three-game losing streak against Toronto. The Oilers averaged almost 37 shots on goal during this week’s sweep of Ottawa, outshooting them by double-digit margins in each of their final two meetings. The team’s 13 total goals also marked their highest offensive production over a two-game stretch so far this season, and lifts them to the top of the NHL team stats with 99 total goals on the year.
The Oilers’ current four-game win streak has helped them close the gap on the North Division-leading Maple Leafs, whom they now trail by just four points. The team has also made gains on the odds to win the North Division, where they have rebounded to a +700 wager after sliding to as far as +900 in the wake of their unsuccessful series against Toronto.
Steady performances on the road have been key to Edmonton’s continued presence near the top of the standings. The Oilers make a rare one-night stop in Vancouver riding a six-game win streak in contests away from Rogers Place. That run is capped by back-to-back wins over the Canucks back in late February, in which they outscored Vancouver by a 7-3 margin.
Winners in four of their past six outings, the Canucks welcome Edmonton to town as +105 underdogs at betting sites. The Canucks are coming off a disappointing 5-1 loss to Montreal on Wednesday. However, the team was solid through the first three games of its current five-game homestand. Vancouver did the Oilers a big favor by posting a pair of upset wins over the visiting Maple Leafs last weekend before shutting down the Canadiens in its series opener, and has now limited opponents to two or fewer goals in four of its past six outings.
The Canucks’ current surge has rekindled their fading playoff hopes, leaving them just five points back of the fourth-place Canadiens. But the team has work to do to overcome a three-game slide against the Oilers, whom they have also lost to in four of five clashes on home ice.
