The Edmonton Oilers will be trying to bounce back from arguably their worst playoff meltdown in four decades when they battle the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night in a crucial Game 4 clash as small -120 road favorites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com (how the moneyline works).
It took just over three minutes for Edmonton to blow a three-goal third-period lead on their way to a 5-4 overtime loss on Sunday that leaves the team facing elimination in Monday night’s matchup at Bell MTS Place.

After struggling to generate offense while falling to defeat in the first two games of this first-round playoff series, the Oilers responded well in Game 3. Held off the scoresheet in both Game 1 and Game 2, Connor McDavid stepped up, setting up each of the club’s first three goals, including a pair of first-period markers by Leon Draisaitl.

The Oilers appeared to be in control while outshooting Winnipeg by a wide 30-18 margin through two periods, and they extended their lead to 4-1 early in the third period. However, the team saw that lead quickly evaporate, with the Jets scoring three times on just four shots over a 3:05 stretch late in the final frame, before finishing the comeback with Nikolaj Ehlers’ overtime marker.
Now facing a 3-0 series deficit, the Oilers face the prospect of being swept in a playoff series that they opened with home-ice advantage for the first time since their loss to the New York Islanders in the 1983 Stanley Cup Final.
In addition to pushing them to the brink of elimination, Sunday’s loss also leaves the Oilers positioned to lose five in a row overall for the first time in over two years. However, the team still sports a track record of steady results when playing in Winnipeg. Edmonton has earned the win in four of six overall visits to Bell MTS Place this season, and has avoided consecutive road losses to the Jets during the same season since 2015.

The Oilers have also been remarkably resilient on the road this season, dropping decisions in consecutive games away from home on just one occasion. However, Edmonton faces a huge task to bounce back against the Jets, who look to Monday night as +100 home underdogs at betting sites.
The Jets are enjoying renewed confidence after posting wins in five straight overall, including outright victories in each of their past four while set as betting underdogs. Winnipeg has been particularly steady on home ice, where they have now won three in a row for just the second time this season. The team has scored 14 times during its home surge, after scoring just nine total goals while losing its previous seven home contests.
