The Bets of the Day is brought to you by NHL betting site Betway!
Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the day. All bets are for one unit unless otherwise noted.
Our first bet of the day will be taking over 6.5 goals between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens. These odds sit at -110.
On a night when there’s not a lot to like in the betting market, let’s back the public and ride the most logical over I’ve seen in a while. As of the time of writing, the over on this game is receiving a staggering 72 percent of the bets — but that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Both these teams are putrid defensively, so this over makes sense. In Buffalo’s last 10 games, they’ve scored 3.3 goals per hour and allowed 4.4 goals per hour. For the Habs, they’ve scored 3.43 goals per hour and allowed 3.92 goals per hour.
The over makes a ton of sense in this game given both teams’ ability to generate offence in spurts and their inability to do anything defensively.
